South Jersey Round Table
In 2019, the South Jersey Round Table was started. All the historical organizations in South Jersey are invited to meet together to share ideas and problems; discuss, plan, and share events; and show support for one another.

Buffalo Soldiers
As an annual event in June, the New Jersey Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club (NJBSMC) has been honoring Brigadier General Louis Henry Carpenter, Captain of Company H,10th U.S. Cavalry, informally known as the “Buffalo Soldiers”, with a wreath-laying ceremony. Gen Carpenter was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions in the western campaigns following the Civil War.
Every June the NJBSMC are in the area as part of their Annual Children’s Ride for Life charity event. The Club balances a passion for the sport of motorcycling with a mission to share and promote the rich history of African Americans in our country’s history.
It's quite an event to witness!
Swedesboro is rich in history with beautiful historic homes and buildings. Our historical society would love for you to visit and learn more!
